Default Hello :)

Hi everyone knew to the forced induction scene and the forum pretty much. My question is this. I have a my01 back home in NC that I will be building when I get back after training out here in California, and am wanting to make big power with. I'm still iffy about whether to get a kit or just do it myself, I have been following the forums very closely for about 4 months and know what ensues if I do decide to do a DIY... Anyways the main question is that my car is sitting with the engine and tranny out right now, tranny second gear is done and the motor has spun bearings. Would it be smarter to just start with a new or used short block without spun bearings or would changing to an f22 crank take care of the problem? I havent seen the motor in or outside this all happened when I came out here and the car was unproperly taken care of. Sorry for the long post and thanks for the information in advance, lots of smart minds in here.

First of all...Thank you for searching

Your motor is already out?!? i say send it to laskey or something for a rebuild while its out. Rebuild it very well!! The tranny...it might just be cheaper to get a new/used one.

You can piece together a turbo kit but please don't be cheap on the parts!! get the most expensive part and do plenty of research about that part b4 you buy it.

Since you want big power...we can only assume Turbo... Remember!! Rule of thumb with turbo's is that it generates a sh!tload of extra heat and your gonna have to move some stuff around. ( its a lot of work and time but sooo worth it)

Engine management...injectors..clutch etc. your gonna spend 10k+ with the turbo components alone, Done Right!! Quality is everything. This isn't just a honda.

Its an S2000

treat it like ... you would Megan Fox on the first date and you KNOOOW your gonna get laid afterwards if you do it right. hahaha

Couple of points. Firstly, welcome.

Second, how about a descriptive thread title? You searched and found many useful threads. Why not add to it?

Third, if you have an MY01 with an F20C an F22 crank won't fit unless you use F22 rods as well.

^^Like he said, he is kinda new and prob didnt want to jump onto someone elses thread and jack it.

That sucks about the engine. But like DeadZero said, this is the time to really prep the engine. And dont go cheap on anything!

If you want more help, you need to be more specific though.

WHP/TQ goals

1/4 mile or 1/8th mile or drift or street or Xcross/ what do you want to do

and last of all, dont put a veilside kit on it

I'm wanting to run e85 and make around 700. Car will just be a toy street monster will most likely just buy a used tranny and get puddy to build me a rear end. Was thinking about the transmission though and don't really want to pay out the arse for a ppg.... Has anyone tried getting a bellhouse to work with a t56? I know powerglides have been done so I assume its possible?

Well if you are in N carolina drop it off at Inline Pro and let them build it for you and slap a turbo in there (they are in VA i think). That would be the easiest route. I'm not sure where Mase is located but he's another that would be good to look into.

If you've got the money to spend, I suggest giving the car to a reputable shop and letting them work their magic. I can't make any suggestions for NC but I'm sure if you look on the local forums there you will find a few. Tell them the components you want and the type of power you're looking to make, sign the check and let them do their thing.

Definitely build the block since its already toast. Displacement is an option I'd discuss with the builder.

If you know you're going for big power, spend the money on the PPG. I'm of the mind of do it once and do it right. 700+ won't hold well with the stock tranny.
