Whenever a car like that races me and were steady even or I'm slowly pulling I don't feel my car is fast I feel my car is not getting away quick enough and need more power, even though were going 120+ mph

Those hood cutouts look really good man! I have been wanting to do this but was affraid I would have to repaint the hood if I did and dont want to have to do that. Was he able to do it without messing the paint up at all or are you having it repainted? If he was able to do it without messing the paint up, how did he do it and what did he do to the edge from the cuts to get it to look like its factory? Did he just mask it off and paint the edges from the cuts to get the paint to blend?

Cut it with an air saw and then an air grinder type thing to clean/straighten the edges, and then a rough file to take out some burrs/etc...and then a carbide bit to do the corners, and then some sandpaper to feather the edges.

No paint.

Picked up the mesh tonight, going to get it cut out in the next few days and painted.

Yeah that makes sense, its relative to whats moving around you as part of the experience. If the guy isn't disappearing like he's standing still then the desire is there for more ...and more...and more

I guess you wouldnt have to paint the cut edges would you? The hood is aluminum I think.

I'd probably paint it to look factory finished, but being aluminum you wouldn't have to no.

It's alum Spoolin.

My friend said I'd want to maybe run a fine line of body paint across it if I wanted too, b/c it's alum it will still oxidize, you just don't see it like rust on mild steel...although it's slower to do this, and would take a few yrs before it was a problem.

Aluminium does oxidise (on steel we call it rust) but the oxidisation forms a protective layer and stops further oxidisation.

All that said, a thin bead of paint won't go astray.
