Thanks Lee! Yeah dude. I ended up cutting REALLY close to the frame on both sides with the sawzall, then used a chisel to pry from the inside.

Are u replacing the crossmember with a bar? Is there a reason for removing the crossmember. Like Are u doing this to make clearance for some crazy turbo manifold or for a v8?

I'm replacing the crossmember with a 1.25" mild steel bar (1/8" wall thickness). Both the bar and the 6x6 plates should arrive next week. I needed more clearance for my new intercooler/piping setup (double back door hugging a Civic radiator). Although a V8 is temping lol

Ya we thought if we are doing it lets make it really useful it's got a 1/8" plate welded to the bay on each side then came off about 2" on each side it 1 7/8" 40wall pipe and out 4 bolt flange on it . It works very well .
We can pull my motor and trans in less than 1 hour with 2 people now
