HKS FCON PRO vs AEM EMS
I have the opportunity to get either of these and just want to know what your thoughts are on each of them.
FYI i' m supercharged.
Thanks for your input guys

I think something you should consider is the availability of tuners who can tune the HKS vs. the AEM. You'll find many experienced tuners using the AEM on the S2000 (like Church Automotive). On the other hand, there haven't been many people here on the boards using the HKS, nor are there many tuners who have experience with using one on the S2000, let alone a boosted one. That doesn't mean the HKS is any better or worse than the AEM. It just means you'd be limited as to who you can go to if you ever needed tuning for the FCON.
If it were me, I'd go with the AEM. It's been a proven power adder for the S2000, especially on boosted applications. Tried and true always wins the day IMO.

The HKS has some nice features. You keep your stock ECU to handle some of the non performance things like A/C and throttle by wire (for '06 and later). The fuel and timing maps have twice the resolution of the AEM (32X32 vs. 16X16). And, most important, OBDII still works. On the negative side, it can only be programmed by authorized HKS tuners. I may be switching to the HKS next summer.
HKS also apparently offers more than one map for different boost levels. Its an awesome piece of electronic but very hard to come by a tuner.
Fred, if you switch to FCON you should do a little write up about it. So few people have the FCON system I have no idea where to start and what is needed. I want my OBD back!

If I do switch over, RRev in Portland, OR will do the tuning. That's the only thing I don't like about it because I've been able to figure out enough about the AEM to do my own tuning.

I'm going to go with the EMS. I can get one at a good price and the cost of the tune wont be that much because Church Automotive already has good base maps.
