Default Hks supercharger bigger upgrade

Hi guys.

So I've got the hks s2000 specific kit with the gts7040, while I was floating about on the interwebs today I found that hks do a sc for other models like 350z and have a bigger blower gts8550/gts8555 has any one tried modding our 7040 kit to accept the larger model? Is it even possible?
On another note has anyone modded their current kit to be either 8rib or a toothed belt system?

Any info much appreciated
ThiggeR

I was always on the fence about installing this kit because of how tiny the blower is, so I decided to upgrade to the 8550 right off the bat. Didn’t find any info online regarding this so I’m winging it as I go. I Have a machine shop making a spacer that is needed based on my calculations. The AC lines need to be relocated or removed, and the metal bracket that fuse box bolts onto needs to be bent out of the way or removed. Hopefully it all works out in the end, we shall see

Oh nice, this is basically what I want to do for mine, if you could keep all the specs you've had done that would be awesome dude. Have you got a build thread on the sc install?

Sure thing! I asked the machine shop about producing a few of the spacers, but I won’t invest anymore $ into them and then nobody wants them. I don’t a build thread

I’ll try to post when I get everything finished. Also upgrading to a slightly bigger Intercooler and 2.5” piping, and I work slow so might be a while

That looks great,

It looks like it wouldn't be a huge job to get it all sorted so that it can be fitted. I really struggle to understand why HKS don't seem to be more proactive when it comes to getting upgrades out. Looking forward to seeing more progress. The spec for the charger says its good for 500bhp which would be pretty insane

How about the black hose off the valve cover, looks pinched pretty bad.
How much boost will you run?

It’s going on my other s2000 without catch can setup so the hose won’t be an issue, I was just test fitting on this car. Not sure yet on the PSI, I’ll start with the higher boost pulley hks offered and see what I get.

what is the spacer being used for? it is to clear the bracket on your strut tower? as us RHD guys dont have this bracket so may get away with bolting it straight up.

Any reports of the larger chargers failing like the ones on our kits?
