The Holy Grail
well i ordered a Tial Q off ebay and couldnt find one with the pink spring so i got the next stiffest one i could find. it says range is 18-23 hg if i remember correctly. this should actually open it easier than with the stiffest spring correct? im guessing it will be just as effective at eliminating surge unlike my ssqv

18-23 inches HG suggests you have the correct spring for the S2000 and likely the "stiffest" spring Tial offers. Remember the S2k produces manifold vacuum in the range of 22 inches HG (idle) to 26 inches HG (shifting).
Your BOV would open easier with a "lighter" spring but it won't open any quicker and more importantly it won't necessarily STAY CLOSED when you want it to- which is most of the time.
The spring "stiffness" has little to do with compressor surge unless you don't have the vacuum required to open your BOV. That shouldn't be a problem with the spring you've chosen.
You might consider purchasing a cheap $25 vacuum gauge to ensure that your manifold vacuum is within OEM specs OR you can "T" off your existing vacuum line and make sure your new BOV is opening fully (between shifts) and stays about 85% open (at idle) before you install it.
well my bov came with the pink spring (22-23 vacuum). i tee'd into my hks line, which is smaller and the tial didnt open at all at idle and barely opened when reving up to 3 or 4k rpm. i think using a tee and everything is leaking a little vacuum. my vacuum gauge shows 20ish idling and about 24-25 shifting. do you think the smaller line the hks uses could effect it, or it shouldnt matter?
