[QUOTE=DeadZero,Oct 15 2008, 05:35 PM]Church is a HORRIBLE TUNER!! When it comes down to a boosted vehicle he just doesn't know a damn thing that hes doing.

ANYONE but church will work just fine. Especially if your running your car with boost. Mase will get your car running perfect.
too bad church does most of the R&D for Hondata ECUs. He tuned my car and it runs fine.

I would like to very plainly state that SHAWN CHURCH IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR MY CURRENT MOTOR ISSUES. First of all I have yet to pull the head off to determine what for sure happened, what I do know is that I was on such a safe tune that I VERY HIGLY doubt it was anything related to tuning at all.

I believe the cause is either from a recent mechanical over-rev (wasn't all that bad but perhaps I got unlucky) or it's due to an oil pressure issue I may have been experiencing since I had a recent Vtec issue and a ongoing TCT issue, both are oil driven.

I give a  to jumping to conclusions and passing blame. Church's knowledge of N/A and F/I cars is well recognized NATION WIDE and even by Honda North America.

I believe that Mase is perfectly capable as well especially when Shawn endorses him and speaks highly of him. I've always been one to bash Shawn's dyno's for giving high numbers but then again I know a lot of guys seem to ignore the "crank hp" posted at the top of the plot and claim "WHP" in their signatures... can't blame Shawn for that. Dyno's such as his are very consistent and thus great for tuning, we should all understand this by now.

It seems Phil disagrees about the facts ON HIS OWN CAR and I'll go out on a limb here and make the assumption he has a clue about the subject since it IS HIS CAR. No doubt Ultimate Lurker will read through the posts, and likely he'll recommend as Phil did that you should have come back to him before you drove your car around for 6 months when you "knew" it was running badly...... What kind of person continues to drive a car they know is running badly? Not the kind that I take advice from.

Your missing the whole point, one of the big factors which has already been greatly stated and explained was how making more boost at a lower rpm is far more taxing on a F20 then at high rpm. You should resurch why that is so you have some better understanding of what you are diving into with these modifications.

I like your argument about the SC expending more energy to drive, putting more stress on the engine, that sounds like something someone pulled out of their ass. This is not some 6/71 v8 blower. Its a centrifugal blower, cmon man get a clue. The blower if you have ever turned one by hand without a belt will tell you there is vertually no resistance at all, its like spinnig an over sized skate board wheel. I will tell you that the air conditioner on our car provids much more resistance to the engine then a SC. hahaha
lol, ok my taillights enjoy seeing you....

Forget it im not gonna do this argueing anymore. Its too much work and im too lazy to argue with the Church Fan Club. But im not dropping what i said about him BEING a horrible TUNER.

i drove the car around for 6 months cuz i didn't have the money to get it re-tuned (spring semester started and i support myself through college) but i babied it until i finally got it re-tuned and my god what a difference. its amazing to make 100WHP from changing nothing on my car, just the tuner

okay okay dropping it. Sorry for ranting

stock boost was always said to be 10lbs most people have pushed it passed that as you can see from the other members its pretty amazing how strong of a motor this is. After even doing the 3mm HG holy moly 600hp?!!? thats VERY Impressive!!!!!! but as the #'s climb you gotta watch out for other stuff that could snap...diff...tranny etc. as long as you baby it on your launches everything else would last a while but its a good question how long the motor would last under that sort of pressure. i think the real question would be how far do you want to push it?
