Default IAT Sensor - pics

Well I'm almost finished with the install of the kit. I did a search but didn't find anything. Where did you guys install the Intake air temperature sensor after you took it off the stock box? I know I can somehow make a bung for it in the IC piping or some how run it to the Intake cone filter but want to get the easiest way to do it. BTW I have the Lovefab kit. TIA!

IIRC the IAT sensor is on the intake manifold. Should still be there.

Are you refering to the Air Control Valve? The device that sits on the rear right of the airbox and has 3 vacuum leads to it?

With the Comptech SC you mount it on the vacuum tank on the back of the cross member but IIRC with the LoveFab it is removed altogether along with the air pump and plumbing. THey aren't active with the AEM EMS anyway.

This sensor is on the air filter boot. Its electronic and has 2 electric leads. The 06 doesn't have an air pump. I'll take a pic and upload it.

Since 995 of us turbo guys run a pre 06 we have no clue. I guess it's lime to be a pioneer. Make sure you know what that sensor is good for and if it's really the IAT sensor, I would put it into the ic piping before the TB.
But what do I know, I drive a 2003.

You need to get a pre 06 Iat and pigtail along with it. You should be able to change sensors without any problems.

Back in my civic days we had the same issue. The later obd2 cars had the IAT on the intake arm and the obd1 and early obd2 had the sensor mounted on one of the runners of the intake manifold. We would simply cut the harness and wire the plug in and use the other sensor. You will have to take the intake mani off to drill the holes. I'm pretty sure the casting is still ther on the intake mani. Honda is lazy like that.

Oh another thing. If you are boosted you HAVE to switch to this IAT. It will blow out of the charge pipe under boosted conditions if you use the one you have.

Hmm, well that sucks. #30 is indeed the IAT on the pre-06
s.

I think the other option is to make a bung on the charge pipe. I heard someone say that the boost pressure will push it out, but there's got to be a way to keep it in. MacGyver here--duck tape is the solution!
