Where's talking about straight pump fuel here and not e85. Do u run your car on straight pump gas on the street with your id2000cc injectors?

Nice to see some actual discussion happening here. Looking forward to seeing how you like the 1650s

I'll be honest...I have tuned my car with 4 different setups on 91, 93, and E85. I have tuned several cars with 2200cc injectors and I have never ended up with final results of bucking, rough idle, etc. like I said, there are a select few that have issues but not enough to say for sure that 2200cc injectors aren't meant for pump gas.

As for washing cylinders....you aren't washing out cylinders at 13.5:1 AF. Tell me when you last saw an issue with washout.

You aren't going to idle 2200cc injectors at 15:1 with great success lol. Some have been good but most not on pump.

In either case, they're not good at that low of a PW.

Yes, you are washing the walls of more oil the richer you get. It's happening.

That's what we've been saying. The PW needed to inject that little amount of fuel is well below the knee of the injector and is the very reason I've never tried to run gasoline on a 2,200 injector.

You are right about the PW not being so great and I won't argue that. For someone with lower power and gasoline, 2200'cc injectors are really not the optimal solution unless the person wants both low and high hp without having to swap injectors. Ideally, 1000-1600cc would be the best all around solution. Just crank up the fuel pressure to get the 2200cc flow for the high hp goals (using 1600cc).

I've had luck with moving around injector timing to get better low rpm drivability on these injectors. You could try playing with that if your tuner has not already tried it.

My new fic ev14 1650cc injectors came in today. I'll be going in tomorrow for a retune. I hope I can get these to run on pump gas like a stock car with stock like idel. Even though they call these 1650's. According to the flow sheet there more like 1500cc injectors. Should be perfect for a 550-750whp car on e85.

This problem sounds like it needs a secondary set of fuel injectors. Doesn’t someone make an 8 injector fuel rail and manifold spacer for a 4 cylinder? Run some ID1000cc in gas mode, and have another set of ID1000 kick in for the E85. No compromises.

We have done a custom rail and added injector bungs to the manifold to add a 2nd set of injectors.. that is really the best way to do it rather than 4 very large injectors, especially for a car that gets driven quite a bit.
