I was about to pull the trigger on a set of 650cc RC injectors to go with my Kpro Tune this coming Spring, but then came across this thread while researching.

With the previous homework I've done, I thought I should just go with the Saturated injectors rather than P&H type because unless I was running real drivers for the P&H (cost $300+) its not worth the money, since with the resistor box, it basically makes the P&H injectors work like Saturated, and you would not get the benefit you normally would from a P&H type.

My question is this:

Pricing-wise, 550cc, 650cc, and 750cc injectors is all the same. With my Power goals, 650cc should be enough, however, my tuner recommended me getting 750cc because if I want to up the boost later, I could.

I completely understand that logic, however, I just want see if anyone has a reason to not get injectors bigger than you actually need?

Is there an optimal duty cycle operation range? I.E. Should I aim to stay between 60-80% duty cycle? If my injectors are too big, and I'm only running say like 30-40%, will that cause me problems with idle??

Further more, if it doesn't matter on what size you get, then why doesn't people just buy the biggest injector size their tuning device will allow and be done with it instead of keep having to switch up?

Thanks!

Hey! Brian, on selecting type of injectors you better stay with high impedance/saturated ones 'cause that's what the Hondata will recommend on their K-pro EMS for the S2000s (also said on the K-pro instructions manual) and about for sizing...I believe the biggest size for a saturated one from RC injector is 750cc w/ Honda style top. I think if you choose a significantly larger one (roughly 2 or 3 times larger than your factory injector size) you will need to modify your fuel line/rail, your fuel consumption will be more ridiculous, it's going to be a very noisy injectors(loud intermittent hissing sound), your fuel pump will work harder means more loud whining noise especially when fuel running low. If I were you just go for 650cc unless your HP goal is around 500hp then go 750cc High/Saturated ones w/honda style top. but be prepared with all the noise and remember more than 11lbs of boost you'll need to lower your compression by means of thicker head gasket. I hope i answered all of your questions.

Marc

Hey thanks Marc.

Right now, I'm not too worried about noisy injectors or fuel pumps since I don't think I will be upping my boost any time soon. My plan is to just do the Kpro and injectors to get away from having to use the Comptech FMU at 7psi. I wanted to do it in separate stages because I want to see if my car drives different from stock to Kpro at the same boost, so I could offer some reviews for other people down the road.

That's why I wanted to find out if I did get 750cc's would I run into problems of injectors being too big for my needs. If not, I think I will just get them now and not have to worry about upgrade down the road.

Hondata K-pro will take care of the 750cc no problem and your car will absolutely run like a stock . Who will do the tuning? Brian from Forged. By the way I'm going there today to fix my cruise control ...I think it's in the Kpro parameters....he just have to click the countershaft speed sensor.

there is no such thing as a 'resinator' box in terms of anything that will pertain to fuel. actually, 'resinator' is technically not even a word.

750's will be plenty I made 495whp on a log manifold at 19psi on e85 so more fuel needed then pump and On 600cc's and was only at 80% duty cycle.
