Man, your tuner should have tried taking the VTEC switchover up to about 6800 rpm to see if it started to clean up. I'm willing to bet thats your problem as it was with my buddy. My buddies cant go any lower on VTEC switchover than 6800 rpm or it will fall on its face. The reason is the manifold and the exhaust pulses hitting eachother. Is there any way your tuner can raise your VTEC to 6800 to see if it starts to clean up? Even IP says that some need VTEC switchover set to 7000 rpm with that manifold.
Ok, I Think I figured things out.
Long story short it looks like the tuner tried to put vtec too low and didn't raise it high enough to clean it up. I know he's done a few s2000s but they were on tubular mani's or supercharger with one other log I know of that also had problems like me.
I put my Base map with vtec set at 6000 (that Scott tried up to 8000 rpm) back in my ems and was able to take the car up to 8000 with no surging. Car wasn't super fast but afr's were in the tens on conservative timing at only six
pounds of boost.
