Ok just got back from the tuner and had a VTEC problem..
The car falls on it's face when it hits vtec and this happens wherever vtec is set in the rpm.
Oil pressure is at 75 below 6k rpm and dips to 45 when vtec hits but goes right back up so he said that the pressure was perfectly fine.

The car vtec'd with the oem ecu and no turbo..

The car is also on new plugs bkr8eix gapped at .030..

Thinking of checking the valve adjustment and vtec screen first.

Any other ideas guys?

Are you on the IP cast manifold? My buddies S with that manifold and the Precision 6265 turbo had to have the VTEC set at 6800 rpm for it to be smooth and it not fall on its face while switchover took place. Did your tuner try to take VTEC up that high to make sure it wasnt a exhaust pulse problem?

Hmmm. What EMS are you using and what oil relocation kit do you have. I would check the screen and the the map sensor.

He had the vtec as low as 3500 or 4000 and as high as 6000 I think... It was the same throughout. I'm running stock exhaust with a cutout but was only at six pounds at the time so the cutout was barely starting to open.

I'm going to check the valve adjustment and vtec screen first.

I have a 1052u with inline pro oil relocation kit.
Oil pressure seemed fine. 75 psi below 6000 rpm with a dip to 45 really quick when vtec engaged but he said it was normal.

Yes inline cast with 5965b turbo.
Stock exhaust (since cutout hadn't opened yet..) 3 inch downpipe bolting right to stock exhaust.. Yes definitely a restriction till the cutout opens.

Man, your tuner should have tried taking the VTEC switchover up to about 6800 rpm to see if it started to clean up. I'm willing to bet thats your problem as it was with my buddy. My buddies cant go any lower on VTEC switchover than 6800 rpm or it will fall on its face. The reason is the manifold and the exhaust pulses hitting eachother. Is there any way your tuner can raise your VTEC to 6800 to see if it starts to clean up? Even IP says that some need VTEC switchover set to 7000 rpm with that manifold.

Dude that's some crap!!! What's the pont of having vtec if you can't even use it?? But atleast if it's just the manifold you can just get a longer runner style and fix the problem. I really hope I don't have that problem on mine to. I'll keep an eye on this to find out the real culprit.
