Did you originally use studs? Have you decked the head surface?
Any guesses as to why you had the failure?

None yet, I have been working 70+ hour weeks. If tomorrow goals well a local member is going to show up and we are going to tear it down.
I'm going to go home early tomorrow and work on my car and the house, I miss both.

u sir are a masochist. i ussually choose one or the other since both inevitably bring me frustration in one way or another.
I've been on vacation all week, so yes your right..
I miss those frustrations you speak of, they make life more worth living/interesting. I also have so much I want to do on both and it bugs me not to be able to get back to them.
So far guys knock on wood my car has been running pretty good! I think my next goals are gonna be to run on another dyno for fun. Then I hope Ptuning will use Allens new build to come out with a meth kit or at least come up with the basics that we could use on my car. I have been talking to Toan there about it on and off while my car was there. They have a kit that they use on there sion that has worked well and Toan seems to really understand how to set it up and add the BB TB from SOS. Any thoughts on that? Looking to hit around 500hp, but I may not need meth to do that.
Well I got the head off and back on today. I still cannot guaranty that the gasket was leaking but there was corrosion in the cylinders and on the exhaust side.
That and there looked to be cross contamination in between all the cylinders, which you can see below.
I was correct about the head studs though, now I would never even think of using the factory head bolts. This is not b/c the factory head bolts are inadequate this is just to make the install easier. I was able to VERY easily set the head and was able to torque it with minimal effort in about a quarter of the time.
