^ i though the lack of heat when the car is stopped (or moving I forget) was indication of Head gasket failure

Do a leakdown test on your motor and pop the rad cap, if you see it bubble, then you KNOW it's toast..otherwise don't freak out just yet.
No need for a leak down test there is an easier way.

I did not drive the car yesterday so when I got home from work I pulled the radiator cap to ensure there was no pressure on the system. Then I put it back on started the car and ran it for about 5-10sec shut then shut it off. Then I took off the radiator cap and system was pressureized and blew out coolant everywhere.

bit off topic, but I was laughing to myself last night, I went to the local Home depot to go buy a Fire Extinguisher to keep in the car, I also bought a Gallon of Xylene to dump in before I fill my car (after the tune) to add a little bit of a cushin for the beating the car wil take tomorrow night (hopefully). Anyway the point is as I drove up to the Home depot there was a brand new M3 it was that dark purple with black wheels and an exhaust, just thought it was funny, here I am at Home depot buying a Fire Exting. and Xylene, I would imagine the owener of the Brand New M3 was there for light bulbs or something...........

modding cars is TONS of headaches for little moments of joy, or you can just buy a fast car and leave it alone

Guys its a hobby, I am probably going to pick up another car soon cause I need a back seat for the kid. I have spent some money but I have also learned lots. You know some of the guys who restore some of those cars on Barrett Jackson spend 100's on a restore and sell it for $75,000. They do it cause its fun. I have had my share of headaches trust me. But you live and learn, better to spend you money on the car then go out to a strip clubs, do drugs, or at a bar every night. Thats what I tell my wife. Just do what with in your means and don't go into the red or over do it.

From my understanding wouldn't this mean that the HG isn't blown? If it was blown then wouldn't the pressure from the cooling system cause coolant to leak into the cylinders/block and not stay pressurized? And as someone already posted wouldn't it just bubble and not shoot out everywhere?

Yeah, my coworker has a E92 DKG M3 and he always gives me crap. Just yesterday he was trying to talk me into buying a Porsche, which by the way will never happen unless I start making millions a year and have a fleet of cars.

Anyway, like I have always said to know good time you have to know bad times.

Ya took care of me at Inline, I am going to pull my head and give their gasket a shot.

It should be in next week and I will try and tear down then.
