I got the inline pro tct this time, they guarantee it will not fail, so your saying the diesel 5w 40 is that much worse than the 15w50, i highly doubt that, its only slightly higher in zinc

Mine has been turbo'ed for over 10 years now and at 103K I changed it out to the Inline Pro version for "just in case" reasons as Inline Pro built my engine and I didn't want anything to happen. Its been on there over a year and 32K miles later not a single issue at all!

Started getting that high pitch metal clanking, bicycle spoke sounding noise from the motor yesterday. No noise on cold start, but once warm the sound is very pronounce. You can tell it doesn't sound right standing three feet away. Everything went through my mind from spun bearings, scored cylinder walls to broken retainers @ 17psi. Ordered the ballad tct. In the mean time, to relieve my anxiety, I took out the TCT and drilled the inlet hole between the rubber O-rings using a 5/32 inch drill bit. Also drilled the inlet hole 5/32" from the chain tensioner side. Used 5/32 because it's the only size I found in my tool box. Did not sand blast the worm gear as I didn't feel like making a trip to Harbor Freight for their blasting tool and media.

Needed a 5mm bolt to retract the piston. Don't have a 5mm bolt on hand, so I took a wood screw close to 5mm and was able to retract the piston with a screw driver. Once retracted, holding on the screw, I fitted the TCT back and then wiggle the wood screw loose.

Standing three feet away, the clanking noise is gone. Putting ears next to the engine, you could still hear the slight clanking, injector noise and valve noise. Went for a spirited drive, popped the hood and I'm back to a normal noisy valve train. The high pitch metal clanking is gone.

The fix is about 10 minutes top. This is with the Ptuning kit...

I kept having trouble with my TCT making noise with mobil 1 turbo diesel oil and then Brad Penn. I would sandblast the gear and it would come back within a few thousand miles. I drilled out the oil feel hole and re-sandblasted it, never had a problem again!

That's not how it works, but you will be fine running that.

getting my inline pro unit today, hopefully install everything back together and fire her up, it was quite a job with the full race foward facing manifold, everything had to come off to get to the tct

Just a note on the whole oil thing...When I bought my car in 06 it had 45k on it. 6 years and 40k later (~12k of that turbo) and I've used nothing but the "worst" oil S2ki has historically cited - Mobil 1 10w30 syn. Motor runs fine and I've only replaced my TCT once. YMMV

Whats the difference with the diesel oil? Higher viscosity and more ZDDP?

when you say you drilled the oil feel hole, you drill the jet that we remove when we put a bolt the compress the cylinder?
