You do not need to get the head machined. I just out the dowels in place then put the head on the block without the studs. Is a bit more difficult to line up obviously but it's the same as using the OEM bolts. Once the head is on the block the studs will drop in the hole and thread right in.

 

Idk if we are on the same page Neeman I was the one who put the fbm studs in without machining the holes lol.
