Boost by gear is your friend with this kind of power. Nice build but that open pipe out of the hood would get old fast for me.

 

If you don't like loud, a hood exit is not for you haha.

 

how loud is this, i just drove my car last night with open downpipe and i feel like I'm waking up the neighborhood, i think i need an exhaust

 

I would think that Hood exit (or anywhere that isn't directly under the car for that matter) would be much MUCH quieter than open downpipe dumping under the car

I ran a 3inch open DP on my old EF for years and it was loud as sin, mostly because it resonates off the bottom of the car and shakes the cabin. It was always louder in the car than outside because of this.


Either way, too your neighbors it's probably going to sound the same, but exiting anywhere but directly under the car should make your driving experience much more pleasant in the cabin.....that is until you put the top down!

 

Its loud as ballz. Surprisingly there is very little resonance inside the car though. Open downpipes and rattle the whole car. Out the hood doesn't seem to rattle much inside the car. In the car is probably still the loudest place though, its actually quieter to drive with the windows down. Around town its actually not terrible. On the highway it is pretty much annoyingly loud.

 

lol i wanted to go this route till i rode in my friends car with dp coming out hood, was surprised how loud it was in car, decided wasnt for me,however sounds great on highway pulls lol.
