Kings performance Rebuilt built engine.
Although it may only be the pistons that are mullered on mine I'm not prepared to take any chances. One of the biggest expenses is the labour so I'm hoping that what was a new Benson sleeved block is going to survive my gentle running for the next 1000 miles or so.I am changing every single moving part inside the engine including the oil pump chain and chain guides.Im hoping that I will end up with what it should have been when I got it back from Kings.
I find it criminal to use a new sleeved block then fit pistons that already have det damage to them.I have mentioned before that because of the few dollars saved on the pistons I can't imagine what other corners have been cut with my engine, hence the reason I'm taking no chances.
I could probably re use the crank and rods but once the engine is stripped if these turn out to be damaged it would take time to get replacements in good time at a reasonable price.

This thread has just gone the way it should have been from the start.Peoples bad experiences out in the open and the best way to deal with it once they find out they are on their own.I don't mind naming names because it's the only way I can warn others to be careful.
The 2 big company's ive dealt with in America both seem to deal with complaints the same way.... They just completely ignore what's been posted about them and presumably when speaking face to face with a customer would describe me as been an ungrateful cheapskate that's had a little issue but want everything for free or for very little money. If money is taken out of the equation then the issue and the bad workmanship and service still exists,so it isn't all about money.
From what Fernando told me about the cost of his Race car ( of which I bought the engine) my car has cost me over 3 times more than his, that isn't to say that I am complaining about what I've spent,on the Contrary, I have and will spend as much as it needs to be the best it can possibly be...in my opinion. Its my hobby and because of that it needs to be right.
Just as an example My gearbox, paddle shifter, clutch and 8.8 rear end cost over $38.000. Things are rather expensive over here in the UK.

Just another thing to add that I totally forgot to mention. I'm just chatting with my tuner now about this and he just mentioned that the NC builder wanted photos of the engine and I had my current tuner send him photos a couple or times even after verifying the email address and never heard back even after emailing him. That's kind of when I knew I was scammed.
On a related note, my tuner just said today that when they tore it apart, the engine had looked like someone had just taken pistons, threw on some rods and just sent the engine out. Now that I think of it, it is kind of suspicious that to got it back so quickly. It was just my first built engine and I was excited so I overlooked that fact. My current engine took A HELL of a lot longer but it's balanced to 10 k rpm. Taking their time was a good thing and even though I was impatient, it should pay off in the long run.

When Fernando first heard about the originally purchased engine letting go He offered to fully rebuild the engine and offered to send photoes of each stage of the build which sounded good to me.This of course never happened but I'm sure the good intentions were there to start with.
I will have pictures of the engine when it is pulled apart and as I still have the pictures of the det damage when it first failed I will be able to compare as the damage to the Pistons was so bad there will still be evidence. Although once I got the engine back he openly admitted to re using the Pistons.
The biggest worry is the fact that because all the engine is buttoned up and I trusted the rebuild it never occurred to me to have a look inside, but that's doesn't bode well for any kind of rebuild in my eyes, especially having once failed I would have thought extra care would be taken to make sure it's right.
I realise I am preguessing but with a new build what would happen if for example they didn't have a new oil pump on the shelf.I did ask for a new oil pump to be fitted because of the swarf( metal filings) that were on the sump plug,a new pump wasn't fitted,I know this because a used pump/ block/ oil pan does get stained in time by the oil that is used in it.
All this is irrelevant really because it's all being replaced but it is a horror story for anybody who went before me and paid the $12.000 asking price for a new build, having assured me that they have used the same engine builder for the last 8 years.

More parts have arrived now for my engine rebuild.Iv just had delivered the inlinePRO 6.6 valve kit and the X beam con rods, with uprated heavy duty wrist pins.Supplied to me by Bernard at Jjautowerks, thanks Bernard.
I've ordered a full set of chain guides for the timing chain and oil pump chain. With the shocking quality of the $12.000 rebuild being as it is I'm taking no chances.
All I'm needing now is fullblown headstuds,a Golden Eagle head gasket once I know whether the new sleeved block will need a reborn or just a honing.I am waiting on that same info also to decide on what pistons will be fitted. That will all be sorted when my tuner strips the engine down.
Awfully sorry if this post sounds bitter.....but it's meant to.

He's a good guy, speak to him fairly regular on MSN, he is also enthusiastic and interested in what you do.That makes him an easy guy to deal with.
No Jim nothing new,no offers of help in any way shape or form off Kings Performance, but if you deal with them I suppose that is to be expected.
