Kings performance Rebuilt built engine.
Mr-pitts my last experience as stated at induction performance was atrocious, as the car they built for me didn't even make it off the dyno. At least ou drove your car 1170 miles, I didn't even see the car let alone drive it. Now as I also stated that could have something failed? Absolutely. But it's called racing if it was easy every one would be doing it. And not a single shop that I know of in U.S. Would warranty a race engine, let alone a used engine which Fernando from kings did. And for the few other posts I've read about having their cars dynoed else where and making more power? It's a very broad question. A lot of things go in the equation such as weather timing type of dyno and etc. Kings uses a mustang dyno which reads lower than most dyno packs or dyno jets, but if your car made1,0000000000hp means nothing when your car doesn't trap over 140mph. As far as I know Carey Bales never dynoed his car for number sand look at the traps. Also the red star s2000.

I understand you had a good experience. Your experience and his are not mutually exclusive.
Example:
I'm in a graduate program. My experience has been okay. I've seen my administration falsify student drug tests to deny a student access to campus, until that student withdrew, and then reverse their drug test position. My experience with this institution hasn't changed. That still doesn't change what happened to the other student or invalidate that student's experience. The majority of students at my school don't experience any conflict with the administration. That doesn't mean what happened to that particular student was fabricated just because it doesn't happen to everyone.
Just because your experience was good doesn't mean ALL experiences are good. I've never been down with the witch hunt mentality of the internet, but some things are to much and passing off broken parts is one of them. I hope I was able to convey my 0.02
It seems to me Fernando has tried to help the situation and stand behind the product which in almost every shop I know would have said no thanks. Especially since it is a race motor/build anything can happen...
I've personally had nothing but good experience with Fernando since I've done business with him. He has helped me on my build back before it was Kings Performance and still to this day we have a great relationship.
The work and support that he offers is amazing just the little I've read it seems he has tried to do the same thing with this situation.
It's hard to say it's anyone's fault when multiple people have touched the build and since it has sat since 2011... just my $.02

I don't know.... receiving a block with damaged pistons and scored cylinders during first start-up on the dyno sounds like negligence to me. Then to ship back another block with said pistons installed without notice is just purely unethical.
You can do all the right in the world, but where it counts is how you react when something goes wrong. Parts do fail and unexpected things do happen, but this was no accident.
Has someone PM'd Kings to chime in this thread?

Ive had a good experience so far with the things i have bought from them but i have not gotten any work done from them as i do my own work. This thread did hold me back from getting a tune by them.
I just hope this whole situation works out well. At the end of the day its all about if the customer is happy with the way the transaction ends. It would be nice to hear both sides of the story....

I love how people who have had work done by them building these 8 second cars are backing them up hardcore, but are missing the point that the engine was sent back to him after a complete build with bad pistons in them. The point is not did they build YOU a 8 second car. The point is they built HIM a engine with shoty parts. I understand people want to back up a shop with praise when they had good luck, but this isn't the case and he is merely telling his story. The only thing I would mention would have been to take pictures and show proof of the engine damage sent to them and the engine damage when received. If he is telling the truth then Kings obviously knows that they screwed up.
Side note, I have there V2 manifold and I am really really regretting it now that I am reading about the cracking issues. I have only put a few dyno pulls on it, but if it cracks like you all are having issues with it, I am selling it all for a Sheepy manifold or the new Fullblown.

Ok here are a couple of pictures of the engine after Fernando had had it rebuilt.

Notice the 1 inch hole in the Girdle.....this is because I asked for the oil return not to be fitted as my front cover was modified.So first job was to take it and have the hole plugged and welded.

I spent quite a bit of time making the engine look good and fitted some upgraded parts,like baffled sum and fluid damper.
[attachment=81450::]
I was really careful......,
[attachment=81451::]
fitting the engine so as not to scratch or damage anything.

Pic 1and 2 show the bore damage,3 and 4 shows det damage to the piston crown.the others show the head gasket blowing,earlier I mentioned that I paid to have piston rings ,shells and a new head gasket fitted.
Who would get new piston rings and fit them in a barrel as badly scored as that? This engine at this point had run for an absolute maximum of 10 mins by a Guy who builds 800 hp Evos for a living.
I heard it running and surprisingly it was a lot quieter than when it came back from being rebuilt.

Honest question here. Did you open the motor when you got it back from them to see if there was or wasn't scoring of the walls and damage to the pistons? A lot can go wrong in 1170 miles, and I'm not saying your tuner isn't good, but everyone can obviously make mistakes. Maybe one was made there?
