Kings performance Rebuilt built engine.
Perhaps the few pulls on your turbo were part of my "only 1000 miles since it was built",.
My brand new precision turbo 6266 they supplied had the wrong gasket/oil seal fitted so as soon as the engine started it squirted oil out.
I also bought Fernando s Race exhaust from him, which turned out to be various diameter/shaped pipes welded together with the gaps filled in with weld.I had to scrap it because it was of no use....but it was only $400 loose change compared to what I would eventually spend getting the engine sorted.
Gosh! All the interesting stuff appears to be coming out about them.....but none of that matters because the build 8 second cars.
Who thinks I should remove this thread because it could ruin the company's reputation?

I love how people who have had work done by them building these 8 second cars are backing them up hardcore, but are missing the point that the engine was sent back to him after a complete build with bad pistons in them. The point is not did they build YOU a 8 second car. The point is they built HIM a engine with shoty parts. I understand people want to back up a shop with praise when they had good luck, but this isn't the case and he is merely telling his story. The only thing I would mention would have been to take pictures and show proof of the engine damage sent to them and the engine damage when received. If he is telling the truth then Kings obviously knows that they screwed up.
Side note, I have there V2 manifold and I am really really regretting it now that I am reading about the cracking issues. I have only put a few dyno pulls on it, but if it cracks like you all are having issues with it, I am selling it all for a Sheepy manifold or the new Fullblown.

I wish people would post more stories about shops when things like this happen. You randomly start hearing about them with no information to back up there stories. Only once in a blue moon, like this story, do you hear thew whole thing and think twice about buying something. Man I don't want to sell the manifold, I had a custom downpipe and dump tube made for it now. I guess I will see what happens.
And no Looksexys2000 does not get it. He just keeps backing them up about his story where he probably spent 50-60k on his car. I understand you had a good experience. I might be missing something, but everyone who gets a engine built from a shop isn't looking to have a full 8 second drag car. I know if and when I do take my engine to get rebuilt I obviously want big power, but I am not racing it down a drag strip every week and I sure as hell don't expect it to blow up or break down. Spending that much you would expect it to last unless your ragging on it 100% of the time.

Hello all,
First off, I want to start by stating that this type of posts are truly damaging to any business and as such, we have taken the time to respond in order to put forth our side of the story. By now, most of you know about Kings Performance and some of you have conducted business with us in one way or another. Regardless, I find myself taking valuable time out of my day to address an issue that frankly should have never been an issue.
Here is our side of the story…You be the judge.
Mr. Glen (mr-pitts) contacted me back in 7/2/2011 wanting to purchase a motor for his S2000. I spent hours and hours, emails and emails (56 emails to be exact), detail by detail explaining every single aspect that goes into building a 700-800 hp S2000. In addition, I gave him my personal cell number in order to assist him with anything he needed at ALL TIMES of the day. Due to the time difference from UK to USA, we had conversations in the middle of the night, after business hours and some very early in the morning, before business hours. I didn’t need to answer calls or messages after hours, but us at Kings Performance love what we do, so we try to go above and beyond for our clients.
After many conversations and emails back and forth, Mr. Clark decided to purchase a USED long block that came out off my perfectly running car making 800whp back in 9/14/2011. This engine was sold for $5,500 (Without core). Where are you going to find a FULLY Built long block for $5,500??? and all he wanted was 750-800 hp (which is around 650-700whp). That same motor is the one we sell NEW for $12,000. I was originally asking $6,000 and because he mentioned more than 3 times that he was on a budget, I lowered the price to $5,500 to accommodate his need. He also paid for a NEW set of ACL Race bearings, CP piston rings & GE Head gasket which we replaced before shipping the engine. We use a special gasket sealant for our motors which is the brown you see on the pictures that he posted.
The motor sat in his garage for over 1 full year, on an engine stand, without running. This caused the cylinder sleeves to rust which is what you see on the pictures he posted. After he decided to install the engine in his car, the motor was running funky. He pulled the oil and it was completely black from the oil mixing with the rust causing the rings to damage the sleeves. I told him multiple times that he couldn’t leave the engine sitting without turning it because the sleeves are iron and they could rust. Even more with the weather in UK that is always cold/cloudy/etc…
Me, Fernando Reyes, as a responsible person and owner of Kings Performance, told him I would take care of it, even though it wasn't my fault.
The motor was sent back to us around March of 2014 by his mechanic using my FedEx account and packaged on a pallet by the shipper. During the shipping time back to USA FedEx drove a forklift thru the side of the engine block and destroyed. Which is the reason I paid for a new sleeved block. The paperwork was filled out wrong by the shipper causing me problems to get paid by FedEx and having to wait months for re imbursement for the damaged.
I paid, out of my pocket, $1,100 in FedEx shipping, new sleeved block ($1,500), all the machining re-done ($500), new bearings ($120), new head Gasket ($80), new piston rings ($100), labor for re-assembly ($500) & FedEx Shipping back to him in UK ($750) for a total of $4,650. Please note, that ALL engines that are sold or used by Kings Performance are machined by the same machine shop and assembled by hand, in house. After getting everything wrapped up, we shipped it back to him around May/June 2014. So here we are about another year later (May/June 2015) and the engine sat before it was installed and driven for 1,170 miles before tuning.
In between all this “budget” build that he told me he was doing, he decided to upgrade some parts like: Hondata FlashPro for a $5k+ Motec system, stock transmission for a $15k Quaife Sequential transmission, suspension ($3k), body parts ($$$$), etc… Which is perfectly fine since it’s his car & money, but don’t come to me with the “budget build” if you are going to blow it in other parts. If he is the type of person that wants to blow money, he should’ve purchased one of the original (3) Engine quotes I gave him. But he choose to buy the USED one for a deal, then let it sit for over a year, then take it to another shop for tuning, then attack and publicly call us out like it is our fault…
How are we going to warranty a USED engine, for the 2nd time when Kings Performance is Not doing the install or the tuning and has been sitting for almost another year.
Here are some facts:
-I asked Glen last Thursday, when he contacted me with the issue “Did you do a compression test, a leak down test and checked the PCV valve???”
He’s response was:
“I didn’t do anything”
“Ask Gary. But I can’t afford to keep throwing money at it”
“You can ask them, because I’ve got no money” I asked him to give me Gary’s (tuner) email and phone number and I will call him. Which I did call… no answer, so I emailed him Monday 6/22/15. Gary replied “That he is busy at the moment, but will contact me back when he has time”
-I offered for him to cover the Shipping from UK to USA and I will go over everything.
-I told him I want to see a video of the compression test and leak down test.
-He also said that I called him Incompetent. In no way shape or form have I ever called him incompetent or even implied that.
-He stated he spent $50,000 with Kings Performance and is more like $28,913.11 total. Including every single purchased he has ever done from us and some of that are from some of his friends that wanted to save money on shipping cost.
We have been in business since 2003 and if we conducted ourselves the way he claims, we wouldn’t be where we are today. If we didn’t know what we are doing, we wouldn’t have the fastest & quickest S2000’s out there…PERIOD. For people that don't know 80% of our business is outside of the USA.
We stand behind our products and every customer that contacts us with a problem, gets helped in a courteous and professional manner.
If anyone has any questions or concerns feel free to call me at anytime 321-235-2699 or email me at bebo@kingsperformance.com

Where's that MJ eating popcorn gif when you need it?
The business I've done with them; I couldn't have been happier. I personally have worked on a car with Fernando's brother Sergio and he knows his stuff. He's also an awesome guy to chill with and I'm sure Fernando is the same. Good response none the less.

Thank you very much for responding.I will digest what you've put and respond accordingly.
It's good how you've made me look like I was a bottom feeder when I was looking for an engine.
I guessed the 1170 miles without being tuned would be picked up on,if you read my post properly you will see it was tuned before it was driven the 1170 miles.
I'm not sure if Gary ( my tuner) will chip in,so have nothing to back up the condition of the original engine.
I did mention that you were always there to offer help at whatever time.Sorry it appears I've exaggerated how much I spent with you,I apologise,it's just that buying 2 fuel systems and a full 5.9 rear end plus an AEM ecu made it feel that much.
I agree about my budget going out of the window it's something that got out of hand.Regarding the final choice of going for the used long block as opposed to the €12.000new build was more a case of you being a good salesman than me saving "loads of money",After all it had only done 1000 miles.
I managed to keep a Pitts special in an open hanger for 12 years which also had steel liners and we had this usual damp foggy English weather you mentioned without issues. So I do have some idea of how to look after a block with steel liners.
Was it really 56 emails just about the engine?wow! I thought it was about 5 but my memory isn't like it used to be,Blees I don't mind you using a little "artistic licence", in order for you to get your point over.

Kings,
When a customer comes to you with a budget of $xxxxxx (which 99.9% of customers must do) and asks for you advise on what can be achieved from that said budget, it's only natural for the customer to be un-satisfied when they receive the end product which doesn't perform as intended.
I would imagine one of the main reasons potential customers come to you over the competitors is because you have pushed the boundaries and have set some very impressive records on the drag strip.
Surely when your business built this engine for the second time there were some QA documents produced which show that you inspected this engine? At the level of involvement you have had (personally) with this build, surely you must have wanted for this job to closed out successfully?
People from the UK have support for Glen & this situation because his build thread has been running for over two years (100+ pages). It's clear to see from that thread that an unbelievable amount of time & money has been spent to build this car (not just engine). Glen has never IMO betrayed Kings in a bad light and always has come across as "fair".
Again in my opinion when this engine was built for the second time, you as the engine builder must have advise that any possible components that were possibility damaged are to be replaced?
Saying it is a mapping or user issue is a valid argument which anyone would defend themselves with, but from reading the original thread page by page you can see that this is extremely unlikely! as for the weather......Mmmmmm
This car was also transported from Glens house to the tuner to avoid any possible damaged.....
With regards to posting drag times in a thread regarding customers complaints...... Well I don't think that is wise business discision as it just adds "petrol to fire" but what do I know.
I really hope this can be resolved for both parties sake.
