Default Knock count

Hi!

I took my s2k out tonight after fitting a C38-91 supercharger. I got given a base map and while driving around for 30 mins I registered a knock count of 8. They never happened at really high rpm so no great load. I have a 2007 so it's dbw and I'm using a flash pro and noticed the knock count once I had stopped and downloaded data.

It felt real good!! And couldn't feel any power loss but I suppose I could of been caught in the moment (numerous times) as I've just gone from NA to sc @ 16 psi.

I'm not real up on this stuff so that's why I'm here I tried to pay evans tuning tonight but there website wouldn't work so have sent them an email.

Could any of you guys take a look at file or shall I just wait until I can get in contact with an e tuner?

I need to take car out tomorrow morning for a 20 mile trip you guys think ill be ok?

Thanks

Who gave you the base map? I wouldn't drive it hard until tuned.

Got the base map from TTS the guys who I bought the charger from. The AFR reading looks good for a base map it's not leaning out at any point. I would of thought its a safe map they supply then I would go to a tuner to eek out power but then I have the knock count so I don't know...

Post your timing map. Generally you want to pull one degree of timing per 1psi off stock timing, so 16 degrees total at redline which would happen to give right about 16 degrees total since stock NA map advances right about 32 total at WOT. This is very general procedure though. If you know how to access your EMS, you could pinpoint what rpm and load the detonation occurred and find the corresponding timing there in the timing map and retard 1-2 degrees to be safe. But like mentioned, keep your foot out of it until you get a proper tune if your not feeling confident.

To add there is no knock at WOT just cruising around 3-4k rpm. We will pull some timing when he gets his car back from the detailers which will either sort it or show it to be some kind of phantom knock.

Would it normally be expected to have a knock count of 0 after say a 20 min datalog with flash pro on an s2k or are there many cases of phantom knock? I know when I was mapping my k20 dc2 with ips k2's I had lots of phantom knock.
