I just updated the aem temp cal to the specs posted on s2ki. Fans turn on at 201 and turn off around 192. Just a quick drive up the street and back I was around 196. It's about 70 degrees out here today

I'll update shortly as I drive the car more

Okay drove the car a bunch tonight in apprx 70 degree weather. Car would occasionally climb to 203 on the highway doing around 65 mph cruising kicking on the fans and bringing it back down to 192 before climbing back up to 201-203 for the fans to come on. Normal?

If the coolant temp is climbing to 203 while at 65mph @ 70 degrees weather, then it is not normal if you have the updated temp calibration. Make sure you are using the temp cal numbers and not the AIT cal numbers.

Here's a video of my 3rd gear. Upper left hand corner is the coolant and AIT temps. I am using the calibrated Coolant temp and AIT temp. Car was idling for a bit, and the temp jumped up to 190's. Drove around and the Coolant temp drops down to 180. As I slow down, the coolant temp creeps up to the 190's, but speeding up drops the coolant temp a steady 180F.

Jump to the 30sec mark.

Yes I am using the updated temp cal for the aem.

FB rad
Prestone 1.1 rad cap (original was shot)
Mishimoto thermostat.

Bled the system every which way and have heat in the car and everything. Not losing coolant and not pushing coolant. Top and bottom hose on the rad are hot as fackk when you pop the hood.

Next im thinking of trying oem rad. Then oem thermostat. One thing at a time though

Im gonna say the intercooler is blockig airflow to the rad. I had that issue before myself.

To test this, pull the ic and run a straight pipe to join your two intercooler pupes where the ic used to be and go for an "easy throttle drive" up to 70 and 80 cruising and see if the temps stay down. :-)

I was thinking the same thing. What else can you really do though regarding the intercooler? I'm wondering if not running all those undertrays may suck some heat out of the rad too. I never had them on with my UR kit and had no cooling issues.

For real. Try it. Pull the ic and have your answer. If it is, when you remount the ic, mount it at a "leaned back" angle. That will allow some air over it. Im guessing its probably a 3" thick unit and all the air is getting pretty much stopped going through it which is why its hot at hwy speeds.
Give it a try and report back. :-)
