i had just messaged the AFI sales account on honda tech and he had said that the battery relocate is not really needed but recommended. along with some small tinkering and relocating of small things just as any turbo kit.. but again looking for input of what else you guys think i should buy to keep it easier on me so i have these things there when i need them.

Your setting yourself up for major disappointment if you plan on rushing an install. I've been there and learned ALOT from it, take my advice and slow down and don't rush it.
yeah i understand, im trying to space out and do as much as i can before the kit comes in so i have 5 or 6 days to hookup oil lines, manifold, turbo, intercooler, and whatever else the kit comes with. i really am trying to space it out and get it done because i will be gone for about a month and i wanted to see it done so working on it 24/7 for a week i am willing to do. i want to reloacte everything and have as much as i can done before the kit gets here. thanks again, i know im gonna be pulling my hair out by the end of it, but i figure with the skilled workers i have working on the car with me i should be able to get it done in that amount of time. unless something goes very wrong, and in that case im FUBAR haha and i might as well just sit down and take it like a man

yes i had saw that post which had made me very nervous just thinking about it because thats what usually happens with any build. I am PRAYING to every god that with moving some things around i can grab some room and the fact that the kit from that post was purchased a year ago MAY help me out. Basically im hoping that in the year they have worked out some issues they had with making these kits, but all i can do now is wait, get it in, and do what i can do. If it works then thank god,if not well lets be honest we kinda new it would be like that. Either way i will have about 5 sleepless nights with my mechanic once the kit comes in

Well I will keep my fingers crossed for you bro! I hope it goes smoother for you than his build. The good news is that once installed, that really is a nice manifold! Good luck.

Ive been helping 518135 with his car. Your all right, it didnt fit very good. But, the end result was great. He has a 82 dived ar and have very impressive numbers. But like S2000 442 said, TAKE YOUR TIME and DO NOT RUSH!

Good luck with that kit. Once you run into a problem AFI won't help you out with anything, they will ignore you and not call you back. One time I had to call from an acquaintance's cell phone at college to even get them to answer. Battery relocation IS necessary due to the manifold, you can't heat wrap the manifold or it will hit the shock tower and not fit. You will also need to move your fuse box and purchase the relocation tab for the heater control valve.

That picture looks exactly like the kit I had mocked up and you will need a good amount of custom exhaust work to get the dump tubes and downpipe fixed. The intercooler pipes are pretty close to not fitting and will probably rub on the fan and the bottom of the radiator support.

Yes they did install the kit in a few hours on their stripped race car. They fail to mention that to you.

I also recently noticed that they changed their name or their parent company changed its name.

You should have gone with PTuning. Their kit seems to be the only true bolt on kit with high HP potential.

Installing the kit itself was fairly easy. Ive mocked up mine completely a few times already and it can be done in a few hours. I had no fitment issues with the kit either with the exception of the charge piping. The IC piping rubbed the stock fans but it was taken care of when I installed the FB radiator with their slim fans. Definitely give youself some time tho and dont rush it.

Brad@AFI also returned my emails promptly and I never had an issue with not being able to contact them.

nothing ever goes as planned, my whole build got haulted for a week bc of one stripped timing chain guard screw, these things happen, dont set a dead line for a few days, try a few weeks, not saying it cant happen, but most likely some little thing will come up

You should cancel those 800cc injectors and get some id 1000's, so you wont have to upgrade in the future. There are a few afi guys here red@9 is one..
