What type of diff reinforcement would I need?
Also, I know the tranny probably wouldn't be able to handle the power, so what tranny is suggested to handle 400-500+hp?
My main concern is the costs for all of these mods. Can I get a ballpark?

The transmission conversion most do is a v160 Toyota supra and a ford 8.8 diff. Those alone will cost nearly 12k+ to swap in.
if the v160 and 8.8 conversion really gets up to costing 12+k, there are way better/stronger/reliable options to go with.
Maybe this will answer a lot of your questions. https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/index.php?/topic/964654-Mportracer33's-turbo-build/page__view__findpost__p__21844180
That's my build and it cost approximately 7.5k all said and done with tuning. Drive train completely stock besides clutch, but I don't drive like an asshole on the street so it has survived no problem.

I think its funny that everyone has jumped on the "you need a V160 and 8.8 rear end" band wagon. 2 years ago those options weren't available, and there were 500whp S2000s coming out everywhere. If you drive the car like a civilized person, your drive train should be fine, no clutch dumps or hard launches and your going to have a good chance of keeping your car together. You don't need to dump 10k into your drive train for 500whp, that's just plain stupid...

It's all in how you drive. I had over 15 passes at the track with stock diff & tranny at 600+hp. Preload and shift quickly, but gently. This was at a prepped track with DR. How people blow a diff on the street is mind boggling.
my car started out with a stock motor 30r synapse turbo kit id1000 clutch aem and a few other goodies made over 500whp no problem drove 1 year on that setup stock trans and diff...but then i got hooked went for more power so it went down hill from there.
