Default Looking to single turbo my future s2k..

*Not sure if this should belong here or "under the hood."*

I'm still in the process of paying off my BMW, but I'm sure I'll have it paid off soon (only 5k left).

I was thinking about selling my BMW to purchase a Nissan 240 S13 shell and drop a built (~450hp) SR20 motor into it.
That is still a potential, but I could also get a slightly newer car (s2000) and possibly spend a little less money to build it.
I have a list of SR20 parts that add up to 7-8k. The turbo would be a 2871r.

Anyways.. I'll probably end up selling my BMW for 12-14k, so I'd be willing to put in up to 10k on a build, hopefully reaching high & reliable horse power.

Seeing as I'm new to Honda's, I'd love to know what setups I could run to reach 500hp maybe, and which manufacturers I should look at when buying parts for the build.

There was a thread on another forum where a member had specified that he broke 500hp on ~13psi via this setup.. (with dyno pics)

Garret gt35r chr
FullRace Manifold
Inline Pro Front-Mount Intercooler
Full Custom 3" Exhaust
Custom 3" Downpipe
Comptech 4.77 Final Drive Gears
Tial 44mm Wastegate
Greddy RS Blow-off Valve
Cometic 3mm Head Gasket
ARP Head Studs
6-puck Sprung Clutch
RC 1000cc Injectors
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
Hondata 4-bar Map
D1spec Catch Can

Extras:
AEM 1052 EMS
Defi Boost Gauge
Defi D-Link Controller Unit
Greddy Full Auto Turbo Timer
PLX M-300 Wideband

Approximately how much would this setup cost me? Or something equivalent to it?

What type of diff reinforcement would I need?
Also, I know the tranny probably wouldn't be able to handle the power, so what tranny is suggested to handle 400-500+hp?

My main concern is the costs for all of these mods. Can I get a ballpark?

Tranny and diff are wild cards, if you're hard launching the car they will break, if you're banging gears instead if shifting smoothly you will break.

The transmission conversion most do is a v160 Toyota supra and a ford 8.8 diff. Those alone will cost nearly 12k+ to swap in.

The diff there are a few different setups that you can go with but the trans will cost that v160 will go from 3-4.5k 2200 for clutch and 1k for the adapter

Just read and look what other people have done on builds and follow that. Alot of stuff you wrote down dont match and wouldnt make sense doing. Like why would you do a full race manifold, inline pro fmic, and custom downpipe... just buy a kit that has it all together so you wont run into fitment issues. But for 500hp this is what you do...

Any 3076 or 35r tubular turbo kit. Inline pro stage 2, full-blown sidewinder, pfab top mount, p-tuning (what i have and recommend), full-race twin scroll, kings performance topmount or sidewinder. choices are vertually endless. Just make sure its quality

Puddy Mod stage 4 diff/inline pro r200 diff kit/or full-blown ford 8.8" rear end kit

Comp Clutch Stage 4 or twin disc clutch

All your fuel and electronics... for 500whp you can get away with a single walbro 255, aeromotive/fullblown 340lph pump, ID1000cc injectors with plug and play clips, AEM EMS Version 2, Hondata K-PRO, or Hondata flashpro(AP2 only), MAC/AEM boost solenoid or manual boost controller, boost and AFR gauge, 3 bar or above map sensor...

And that should be about it. In my opinion 500whp is a very questionable power level for the drivetrain. The motor can make 500 with out skipping a beat but your going to get ALOT and i mean ALOT of different opinions about what drivetrain mods you will need to support that power goal. but at the end of the day the only thing that matters is how your going to drive the car. If your a aware and smart driver you can daily drive 500whp with just a upgraded clutch and be fine. shift easy. and you`ll have it last a while. Now get all ricer on us... launch the hell out of it and start slamming gears like your wanna rocky balboa the dash then with out doubt you need a upgraded diff and a supra V160 tranny swap(easily another $10,000) but remember NOTHING is bullet proof. So i suggest just doing a clutch and be easy on it... and if you wanna track it save up and do atleast a upgraded diff.

SAFE ESTIMATE will be 10 grand you can get it running done and reliable if you watch your costs...

Turbo kit, fuel, EMS, and Tune (some new stuff, some used) $7,000-14,000

Transmission $500-$8,000

Diff $0-$4,000

Correction: FlashPro is for 06+ AP2 only, will not work with 04-05 AP2 s2000s

I would love to know where all the newbies keep getting the idea that the 3mm HG is a good idea.
