lower compression or meth?

thanks for the replys guy. i would go e85 but i live in victoria bc canada and e85 doesnt exist here. i have a 3.4" pulley i could install to up the boost a bit but id like to keep the 3.6 on and run some more timimg cuz my tuner said its running low timing. we originaly tuned it on 91 but the computer pulled timing at 7500rpm cuz it was detonating. so we re tuned it on 94. it seems like all you guys like meth better than a thicker head gasket. why? anyone have a lower compression engine and regret it? if so y?

ps im at 325whp right now and im looking to add another 50-80whp

Thicker head gasket will fail sooner or later that's why we don't like them.

And your losing efficiency and power the motor can produce by lowering compression. Wouldn't you rather keep your compression and use an alternative method to control detonation? Your goal was to make more power I thought. A thicker head gasket doesn't lower IAT, combustion temp or EGT either, but water and meth does. Which also means your motor is running happier. Enough reasons?
