No, you have to gravity drain back to the pan.
Why couldnt it be done this way? Wouldnt that technically be a pressurized system which would feed the oil through the turbo and draw it back to the engine (through an external cooler and oil filter?)

The drain is not pressurized, well that is as long as you are venting the crank case pressure correctly.

Think of it like this, we know fluid moves from High pressure to Low pressure, so if you have a garden hose that you close the nozzle on there is no flow inside the line b/c it is all at the same pressure. However when you open the nozzle at the end you start flowing. The only way this would change is if the turbo was an oil pump also but that is not the case. So you pressurize the inlet and do all that you can to lower the pressure on the outlet. Some applications also require a scavenging pump b/c they cannot take advantage of gravity or have exessive crank case pressures.

Just curious if my dbw returnless fuel system has any restrictions compared to 00-05 models? Possible to run 18+ psi with ID1000's and walbro 255?
