I am curious. Instead of tapping the oil pan, could you use a sandwhich plate @ the OEM oil filter location and run the oil lines to the turbo from there then through a larger external oil cooler?

No, you have to gravity drain back to the pan.

heres my situation, the shop that put my kit on capped this cooler line because he said it was to close to the manifold but i want to get a longer hose and reconnect it with a heat sock/sheild

in this pic, notice the coolant threaded fitting to the left of the oil feed fittings above the headflange gasket... that's what you need in order to use the oil cooler.
