I think we are talking about two different effects. One is cooling of intake and the other is cooling of the cylinder head-combustion chamber. There is no no way that the pre-turbo does anything beneficial for the turbo or the combustion chamber. It is acting line a pre-intercooler and the numbers show that. At the intake manifold, 6 inches of thereabout is clearly the best place to have a post-intercooler effect and lower head temps. To do this right takes a logging set of probes, etc. Or just make the mist as fine as possible, and make sure you are not doing what one of those guys said and replace fuel with water...

i'm gonna put it closer to the throttle body... its gonna cool everything either way.. so why not go for higher octane rating.
