E85 is no bueno for me. Lucky you have three of them down in the SD area.
In all honesty you are not getting what I want to use this system for. I don't want to tune this thing balls to the wall, I just want to be able to tune it on the edge for a normal pump gas setup and then add this system to make it safer with lower AIT's and also a boost in octane by the methanol. For 250 dollars for the snow kit, I cant say much more.
Sounds good. Understand though that the Snow kit has not favored well with Evo owners and most will tell you to spend the extra money and get an Aquamist kit.
Here's the mod I did to protect the throttle position sensor (TPS). The seal for the left side of the throttle body is achieved by a gasket that is on the TPS. The TPS innards, the potentiometer, is actually indirectly exposed to the intake air. Normally this doesn't matter much, since NA cars are pulling vacuum. If you start spraying though, you can get your TPS wet. Here's the throttle body
and what is inside the left end
and then a cutaway of the TPS and throttle shaft.
I found that my bronze bushing was pretty much dry (55K miles) and there was no grease in the groove. First I packed the bushing with a vacuum rated grease. Next, I drilled a small hole in the bottom of the TPS mounting hub, in case anything got past the throttle shaft bushing. Finally, the blue arrow is where I put an oring. IF you have the cajones to take apart your throttle body then you can put in the oring .
Also worth noting, if your TPS goes bad you can change it out with an OmniPort TPS and save over $400 vs. buying the whole frickin throttle body. You do need to modify the TPS so that you can rotate it to the correct S2000 position:
For AP1, the voltage accross the TPS should be .30V at idle position. It's in the Helm's manual.
