Just curious but couldn't you have just run 2 255's in the dual hanger and with the stock baffle and then had those two pumps feed a larger external pump without a surge tank?

No I don't think that would work without a surge tank, because when the factory baffle throws the fuel out the pumps will suck air and still cause pressure drop. I think I'll be ok with this setup, I will update when I can really test it out. Hopefully it will work as planned put a lot of effort into this and it really seemed to work good when I was washing it out. I tried to make the water come out of the baffle with quick side to side front to back movements and it was trapped in the baffle.

After testing this setup I can say that it works great with no more fuel surge problems, only problem is that it doesn't take fuel at the gas station without the pump stoping. I know what the problem is, I had to modify the the factory rollover valve because the baffle was so big it hit the baffle trying to install the rollover valve. I've been dealing with it for a while but I have the fix, just sucks I have to pull the tank again to fix it. I made a plate the same thickness of the oem roll over valve and used the oem bolt down plate. Picked up a fuel cell rollover valve from fuel safe, so the tank can vent when filling with fuel.

I'm lost on the vent part. What did you have to do and why? Won't the stock vents work ok?

The stock vent will work fine if you make the baffle a little smaller than I did, the factory vent (rollover valve) is so long it hit the baffle and I had to cut and modify it to fit into the tank. They way I modified it it would not let the tank vent, so when filling with fuel the pump would click every few seconds very annoying trying to refuel the car. Now that I have replaced it takes fuel much faster. You should really remove the the factory vent anyway because it has so many lines on it that are no longer used.
