Default More info - BAP + Relay

I'm still on this quest to gather as much info before I start the install and my writeup/how-to for you all.

The BAP should be here any day, and the relay I bought came yesterday.

W/that said...I'd like to ask a few more questions.

1. Fuel pump harness. What color is the power wire?

2. In regards to the relay, how should it be wired?

It basically has 5 tabs.

"Assuming" the following:

Ground
Power from batt
Power to pump
OEM pump power
???

Link to pic of relay here

3. Last but not least, from what I've been told, I need to hook the BAP up to the relay as well, so it gets good clean power directly from the batt. How is this accomplished?

Thanks for any all advice.

There are four wires going to the pump. You want to concentrate on the two thicker ones. Get a voltmeter and it will be clear which one is positive. I can check my set-up tonight if you don't have a voltmeter.

As for the relay, I never used one .... not sure why you need one.

Thanks Irish.

Did you put a 30a fuse inline from the batt to the relay?

I thought there were 3 stock wires on the fuel pump; power, ground and switched power. What is the 4th wire for?

Run the same size ground back to the block.

That would be a waste. You want to use the same size ground wire (8-10ga) as the power wire for the relay but you can just ground it to a good spot on the body frame near the relay.
