If he's new to FI, he should get a new kit. Look at Mase. But Greddy is cheaper. If you get greddy, your looking at 280-300 rwhp and the stock clutch can last on this power. Not for long though, and it depends on how you drive the car. Going used SC would be "safer" it looks like.

used comptech kit, assumiung the kit is in good condition and not missing anything, and assuming your stock clutch is in good condition and you install yourself, yeah under 3k and will be reliable. but who wants 5.5psi!

i am bored at 10-11

i know, everyone is different, anyways, good luck brotha. FI is so much fun!

If you're on a budget and want intermediate power, I highly recommend going SC. It's cheaper and less likely to eat your clutch, transmission, and rear end. Turbos are awesome, but a big, expensive can of worms...

I agree to disagree.

If you do consider a supercharger, the SOS kit + a SOS sport clutch might be a good way to go. The total cost (including a clutch) would be around $6k + installation.

The Mase kit pre-release price as $6500. It's a great deal compared with some of the other turbo kits above. Not sure what the pricing is now. Adding a clutch would bring the total to around $7250 with throwout bearing (not including installation).

Some other options for turbo are:

$3300 with a log manifold. Will require engine management, tuning, installation, and a clutch.

$5100 with a tubular manifold. Will require engine management, tuning, installation, and a clutch.

P-Tuning $5500

Inline Pro ($3995 to $5495)

Full Race ($5613 or more)

The extras on the Full Race, Inline Pro, P-Fabrications, and P-tuning turbo kits mentioned above (excluding install and tuning) will cost at least $2.5k for a reasonable deal on new parts. Used parts could be significantly less.

Turbo kits often pull you in with low prices, but once you add on all of the extras, the final price can be 1.5-2x as much. The Mase kit and SOS kit are unique in that they include everything you need (including a tune) and require only a clutch and installation. Excluding the log kits and the Greddy kit, the SOS or Mase kit are likely your cheapest options.

Why do you say that you'd never buy another used turbo kit? I am kind of in the same boat here and am looking to FI my car. I however have been leaning towards SC because of the reliability thing, plus even tho i'd LOVE to eventually jump up to the 400-500rwhp club, my bank account will divorce me. Thats why I am willing to settle for a new or better yet, a used SC kit in good shape.

What do I have to make sure is straight on a used SC/turbo kit before purchasing?
