Default My corolla runs again! AP86

Thought I might share this car with another forum, 1986 corolla with a good motor. Met a couple of guys at DriftOffice's dyno day earlier this year and was told I should make a build thread.

motor is pretty basic
golden eagle sleeves
CP pistons 87.5mm 9.0:1
BC rods
supertech springs/retainers
gotta order some ferrea valves

Turbo is a Airwerks 83-75 divided 1.00 t4 housing, flows a little more than a gt35. wastegates are 2 vband 38mm tials.
manifold and all other fab done by me. AEM series 2 is the ecu to run it.

Few pics of the car and where it is today, hoping to land a job soon as I was laid off recently and it stopped the cars goal of driving it this summer. As soon as that happens Ill be able to make some real progress towards actually driving this thing.

and how it rests usually

I bought a tubing bender recently to do some roll cages, as soon as I can start knocking those out for some local drifters Ill be able to buy bearings and get the motor assembled. Right now Im trying to pick away at little things like shaving the engine bay, finishing the tunnel, mounting my wilwood pedals and after I make some seat brackets I can paint the bay and interior/cage.

Hoping to borrow a z33 trans soon so I can figure a way of getting that behind my motor. I really want to be able to beat the piss out of it all the time, the 8.8 rear with moser axles will be fine but I dont wanna be replacing transmissions all the time like my friends do in their big power hondas. Power goal is whatever the turbo can push out, its rated for 680whp+ so Im gonna try and prove/disprove that.

Anyways thats about it, Ill update as I move along and hopefully will be doing some burnouts before next seasons drifting and drag racing start.

Say that again...pretty nice job man, and your work area makes it even nicer.

Jealous of people w/nice garages to work, best of luck.
