keep it another year and drive the piss out of it, too much awesome work to only put 1000 miles on it

Ya i know, we'll see what happens. Just depends on what I need for starting a business with a friend and which direction we go at first.

AE85: I cut the subframe and the oil pan, you are gonna have to cut the subframe no matter what unless you go with a dry sump same with the pan. My motor could probably sit about 1/4" lower if I did the mounts again and it would almost clear the hood without spacing the subframe down. The hood rests on the valve cover where it sits right now, but spacing it down a little or shaving the front corner of the valve cover would solve the problem. I didnt use any spacers but using a 1/4" plate probably wouldnt hurt anything, but I wouldnt really want to use anything like the JSP mounts and spacers, just dont like the idea of it either.
Since my car will do some endurance events, I will go for a dry sump, currently thinking the RED kit, any impressions of that? Seems well priced (compared to Toda!). I have a fibreglass hood so I can work with that for clearance, but I want the engine as low as possible for obvious reasons.

This is mine:

If you have the cash for it go for it, I dont know anything about the different brand of kits but I dont think they are needed honestly. As my motor sits it hits the front of the valve cover to the hood without spacing the motor down. I could probably make all the clearance I needed just but cutting the valve cover a little bit or just doing my mounts over. My oil pan doesnt sit below the crossmember either, it sits just higher. A little lower and a tiny bit further back and you wont have an issue.

F@#king cold weather! Havent actually driven the car in over a month now, just in and out of the garage when it needs to be moved. Kinda wanted to do the toy run but it was 18 degrees in the morning, no thanks. Who wants to buy this motor and trans! I hate that I can't drive it and I'm closing on a house in a couple weeks which is killing my savings. I plan on starting a business after I close and cash would help a lot. I doubt anyone wants the car as a whole, parting it out makes the most sense. This is winter carpression, it gets cold out and no one goes out.

Still alive, took it out this weekend for a spin and to troll the freeway with no success. Did have my first problem since the rebuild though. I went to Dicks for a little meet and on the way back I could smell coolant and the temps started fluctuating. Long story short there was a pinhole in the radiator, I got some brazing rod at home depot and patched it up. Then found another leak and patched it, then found another and patched it. There was zero damage to the radiator, it was on the backside that was covered by the fan and shroud. What looks like damage is me pushing fins out of the way and filing the material to get a good seal. So far its holding, I'm wondering if I just got a bum row because all the leaks are on the same row and same side.

Car still looks like a turd, but maybe it'll be one color this year and have quarters put on. Thinking of doing race gas soon too, and ordering some 275's.
