My corolla runs again! AP86
Been frustrating dealing with little leaks here and there. I found a little water leak when pressure testing the coolant and had to pull off the upper water neck and go over it a few times to get the shitty honda aluminum to really stick. Well the f@#king thing rolled off the table while it was still hot and dented the tip of the fitting! I had to cut it off and weld a new one on, and the oil pan leaks now in new places so the pan has to come back off. I'm also kinda worried about a temp fitting on the intake manifold that looks like it could have a leak also. Maybe I'll just pop the motor out real quick again to do the manifold and oil pan again. Still waiting on a caliper bracket to drive it, I think I'll get it all together as best I can so when I am ready for a test drive its with a tuner in the passenger seat.
This is how I felt the other day.

I pulled the motor again yesterday and pulled the pan, bought some UV dye and set to finding the leaks.

Hard to take a pic of it but theres two little dots that barely put out one drop overnight, for some reason the oil leaks out faster than the water does. And one spot that I know leaks hasnt leaked water yet. I'll weld all 3 spots up today and start to put it back together and probably in tomorrow. Also gonna pop the intake manifold off and re-tap one water fitting that I think will leak when it gets hot, and drill out the thermal intake gasket. The rubber line from my coolant can goes to the intake manifold, but the aftermarket gaskets dont have a hole there, its to keep water from going into the throttle body and idle controller to keep heat down. The problem for me is thats the highest point in the system and without it flowing water air will probably be trapped there and my little coolant tank wont do what its supposed to. Oh well, nice three day weekend for me so I'll be out there getting some stuff done. Would like to get the charge pipes all done this weekend, maybe put the seat in.....I hate HATE seat stuff. Absolutely hate seat brackets, and its actually something that a lot of people hate to do so I'm not alone there.

Got some stuff done. Mocked up the intercooler tubes and welded the intercooler shut on top. Started by just cutting the tops off but it wasnt gonna look good like that so I took it a litte further and welded it shut. Used a hole saw to cut the sides open and welded in some new outlets, really like the way its all turned out.

And I ordered a magnaflow 4" muffler, 7" around 24" long. 8' of 4" tube and two 4" v-bands.

And ordered an ATI crank damper.

And a filter for the turbo, some split wrap for the wiring that goes in the fender wells and a 4" coupler for the turbo inlet. Getting close to having this thing dyno ready.

Thanks, turned out pretty good. Welded up the tubes, put some beads on the end and welded in the iat sensor. Also started on a coolant overflow but ran out of gas! Couldnt weld it complete and tap it, also couldnt put some material on the passenger side tube so I could tap it for the boost controller line. After I tap the passenger tube for the boost solenoid I can clean the tubes out and bolt them on for good. Filter and exhaust should be here this week so I should be able to get something started there. And since I'm out of argon maybe tomorrow I'll weld the seat in.
