my CRX2000
purpose for the car:
i've owned the car for 13 years and i've done autox, drag and lapping in it. first and foremost the car has always been a street car, and it will continue to do that once this is all done. i'm not building the car to put it on a trailer and take it to the track, i'm building it to enjoy driving it on the street, to the track, on the track and back home again. i don't really know what the car will excel at in the new format, but it will always be built for driving, not sitting in a garage. i know it wouldn't meet the required criteria to compete, but i'd really love to enter it in the targa newfoundland. maybe they could bend the rules for me one year.
shifter location:
if you look at these two photos, they illustrate that the shifter is actually almost the exact same distance from the firewall as the original shifter. the only difference is that it is raised up. having driven an ep3 for a few years with the shifter in the dash, i really like the new position of the shifter in this swap because it is closer to the steering wheel and should feel more ergonomic.

[QUOTE=S2oooNvegas,Oct 4 2009, 03:58 PM] Not gonna be needed. entire car will be under 2000 lbs. remove 800 lbs from an s2k and see how long the trans lasts with 30% less load stress. Hope he has an ap2 trans. The ap1 trans just sucks all the way around. From gears being wrong, to the synchros being junk compared to the later box.
Even still, car should be bulletproof due to feather weight. prob gonna need to add some balast to the rear to keep it from swapping ends. so short, and light in the rear.
i wanna see vids of this beast for sure.
