Awesome work.
With your skill and resource, you should look invest in a different gearbox. The S2k is not that strong.

Have you ever consider using a 5 speed gearbox from a Nissan R33GTS-t or a Supra?

I broke my s2k gearbox and currently using a R33GTS-t gearbox.

Not gonna be needed. entire car will be under 2000 lbs. remove 800 lbs from an s2k and see how long the trans lasts with 30% less load stress. Hope he has an ap2 trans. The ap1 trans just sucks all the way around. From gears being wrong, to the synchros being junk compared to the later box.
Even still, car should be bulletproof due to feather weight. prob gonna need to add some balast to the rear to keep it from swapping ends. so short, and light in the rear.
i wanna see vids of this beast for sure.

thanks for the heads up. can you provide more details? is it something to do with the oil squirters? i'm not entirely familiar with the drivetrain.

i guess a good reason to start a build thread here is to sponge as much knowledge out of everyone here that i can to avoid any problems!

^ He is referring to the banjo bolts that spray oil on the underside of the pistons, which are different than the squirters that are on the pistons themselves... There is a DIY on here on how to change them out... Pretty simple once the pan is dropped.

The MY00-01 banjo bolts had only 2 ports, which leads to uneven oil distribution under the pistons, causing them to heat up more. The MY02+ banjo bolts have 4 ports, for more even distribution.

I have heard of people scoring their blocks because they did not upgrade and were running a good amount of boost (result = more heat).

I like it, i miss my crx but would never go back to a fwd platform, should be insanely fun to drive. Whats been nagging at me as I milled over these pictures is the positioning of the shifter, as i remember in my crx I was sitting pretty well on the ground and didn't have a whole lot of extra head room, so it wouldn't do to raise the seats, I know i'm jumping all over here, but I guess what i'm getting at is that the shifter looks to me like its now been raised, and maybe moved rearward due to the new tranny, whats this going to do for ease and comfortability of the drive?

This project is so badass it makes me want to blow my brains out. If I was doing it I likely would have stayed NA because it would have still been plenty of power for the car. Are you building it to drag race more? If so I can see why the turbo is going in. But for a daily cruiser or invincible auto-x machine the stock motor would have been fine. It's clear that you want you own special padded cell in the tuner psych ward. ;-)

Will you be putting a decent interior in it or leaving it mostly stripped for race purposes? I'd really like to see this machine become a daily driven monster. I have to agree with the other this is my favorite project on s2ki. I'll be watching it for sure. Maybe give a hint on how much it would cost to have you do one of these for us?
