this is wrong in so many ways ... they even took the damn steering column !!
only thing I could guess on the steering column is that is was easier to unbolt and snatch the whole thing with the steering wheel attached than to spend the time pulling the wheel and air bag. just more parts to put back on

[QUOTE=dsddcd,Apr 18 2009, 05:02 PM] I prefere my Bretta over the Glock though I have a custom 24" bull barrel AR among others that might give them a scare.

My fiancee is a Progressive claims agent and in MO if the car has over 80% of the cars value in damage, based on NADA, they have to total it.

they are not really gonna look it up. dont you know you can beleive about 1% of what you read on the internet. right now i bet i couldl google time machine and find at least 5 sets of plans on how to build a working one.

welcome to the internet. not everything you read is true. i doubt anyone will be looking anything up. progressive will handle this claim in the most professional manner possible and be more then fair with the claimant. candymajl will get his car back and be able to rebuild it, since that is the fair thing to do.

I dont understand why you are so set on it not being totalled? Why not just let them take the car, go out and buy another ap2? Personally...i wouldnt want the car back. You have no idea what else they did to the car. For all you know there is a gallon of sugar already run through your motor(if there is even a motor left)

Good luck

because if they total it I lose my $2,000 down payment, $1,600 worth of AEM EMS and serial gauges, $1,400 worth of stereo stuff, $700 clutch and flywheel, and $2,500 worth of wheels and tires. if it was bone stock then yeah total it, but if they total it now I lose all the money that's into it so far. with the money they would pay to fix it I can get all the parts I had before and rebuild it the way it was.

I'm sure the motor and tranny is fine, only thing they took from the engine bay was the battery. once it's rebuilt then I can add the extra coverage and if it gets stolen again I'll just start over with another car.
