It's a god thing the kit wasn't installed, that would be gone too.
I think Florida has a record for S2k thefts and strips. It looks like the dirtay bastards have taken one apart before, they didn't cut any wire harnesses from the pics.

if the wiring was cut then it would be a ton more work to put it back to normal and really hard to not total it. monday I'll talk to progressive again and try and get them to not total it. in their appraisal they quoted full MSRP on the parts to fix it, nobody pays that, it's just inflated to try and total it. I priced out the damage using real dealer prices on the parts and knocked off over $2,500 right there. hopefully between that, the fact that I have a shop ready to receive the car ASAP, and bitching at them they'll just release it to get fixed, we'll see.
really it's not too hard to put the car back together, just annoying. while putting it back together I'll install the alarm I was planning on getting and the fleet tracking GPS I was looking into. the fleet tracking is cool because unlike lojack it doesn't just tell you where the car is at that moment, it logs everything for 90 days on an online server. so I could see everywhere it went from the time it got stolen till it got dumped. you can also have it alert you when it leaves an area, pretty cool stuff. hopefully I'll never need all that after this and putting in an alarm but for the piece of mind it's worth it.
oh well, hopefully it gets put back together as good as before and just delays me getting the kit.

if the kit was on it and got stolen too I think I'd go postal, you'd read about a cracka with an AR15 shooting every car thief in south florida

My fiancee is a Progressive claims agent and in MO if the car has over 80% of the cars value in damage, based on NADA, they have to total it. You can however take the check and buy back the car. Depending on what state your policy is held in you would have to get a salvage title though.
I could have her look it up and see what they are going to do, but you could never let the agent you are working with know about it.
Good Luck, hope you had a suplemental policy for any aftermarket parts. We carry 10K worth of suppemental just incase.

I prefere my Bretta over the Glock though I have a custom 24" bull barrel AR among others that might give them a scare.

I love the Glock, it's like a hammer, it's not pretty but it always works and you don't care if it gets beat up
they told me about the supplemental policy after the fact when I was filing the claim over the phone, a lot of good that did. now I know for next time I guess.
they said they total it when the cost to repair plus the cost of the car at salvage equals the NADA value of the car. they told me the NADA they're going by is $19,000 and that it's worth $5,000 at salvage so that leaves $14,000 left before they total it. they sent me the appraisal with $17,000+ worth of damage which is retarded, you can buy an 05 AP2 for that much.
I'll send you a PM, if you're wife could look at it that would be awesome and obviously I wouldn't say anything.
