I think it is not that simple right? Don't you have to reinstall your old ecu, change back to smaller injectors?

sucks you guys have to go through all that crap

I could see them enforcing some things like the cat and the exhaust not being too loud but to me if you pass the sniffer test it shouldn't matter if you have OEM equipment or not.

there was some talk of florida bringing back emissions testing but I think with the budget being like it is right now and how much it would cost to get all the testing centers back online and staffed, I doubt they'll do it. even when they did have it down here they only looked to make sure the cat was there and do a sniffer test, no crazy stuff checking for factory ECU's.

That's my problem with it all. Here in Cali it doesn't matter what you've done, if it's not stock then it's not legal. (Unless you have a CARB number, which is really just a smog test and a huge check written to the CARB people) My Eclipse did BETTER on a smog test after it was modified, but that doesn't matter.

The thing is that the whole smog issue is a huge money maker for the state, and if what came out of the tailpipe was the only thing that mattered (as it should be) then they would lose lots and lots of revenue from fines for modified equipment.

You could pass a sniffer test without a cat, but passing the sniffer test isn't enough for them to waive the giant fine that they can hit you with... What a load of crap.
