No, not the air filter, the little breather filter you see coming out of the valve cover. You need to create a vacuum like situation and that thing is not going to do the job The PCV system uses vacuum to dispell pressure in the crankcase. The breather won't create this vacuum as well.
I hate it when people post BS like this. That breather works just fine with the PCV system.

It's not BS. I could post links all over to people advising against using the breather, however I'm not in the mood. Do some googling.
Sorry, but you don't know what the heck you're talking about. Having that breather there is the same as running the tube to the back of the intake air filter, as in the stock system. The only difference is that on the stock setup any oil thet is discharged goes into the intake manifold. With the breather, it goes into the air under the hood. You could have an open hole there and the PCV would still work, except you would be pulling unfiltered air into the intake.
You can't say that it's the same though. Car manufacturers don't have open breather filters there for a reason. I never said the PCV wouldn't work. Maybe the way I worded it about it being a big "no no" wasn't the best way to put it, but there is a reason why people advise against using the filter.
I guess the front breather is why I can only could get a little over 500 whp at 17 psi on pump gas.
Alright, you're getting a bit out of hand now. You're acting as if I made accusations that I never made. Nowhere did I state that it will hurt performance or make someone not able to make 500 horsepower on 17psi.
