I thought when I installed mine they told me hand tight when I tread them into block then to install head and tourq the nuts ? Plz tell me if I'm wrong so I can fix it b4 I install everything else

There just supposed to be hand tight on the block side never tight enough to pull threads and brake allens, if they go back in without any issues I'd say you are good to go imo just don't tighten them to far.hand tight all the way seated is all they need

When i put them in they were hand tight not sure how they got this tight...im gonna take the head to a machine shop to make sure everything is good

You should probably use ARP ultra lube over that peanut butter. It'll give a much more consistant torque. It's what I used and we will see how it goes.

U won't see the coating on the bearings in the Vtec screen, only fairly major failure......the coating is important, and ive seen water wash the coating off, after that happens its a very quick deterioration from there.....if the motor is already half apart why not have the block checked too.......

I don't get it .... Ur car ur money I just HATE doing things twice.... If u towed it home as soon as it happened I would say forget it but u drove on basically water.......

Is there away to check it without disassembling the block?...what exactly am i looking for? With the compression motor has does it seem like anything is wrong in the bottom end?
