but when you say fused wire directly to battery, do you mean I'll have to add a fuse or I just run a wire off the relay to the battery?

You need a fuse from the battery to the relay. Just pick up an inline fuse. You can use the same wire and fuse for both relays.

i run the stock fans right now on the S2k, but might change in the future.

on my tahoe i run the perm a cool death fans as i like to call them. these bitches move a shit ton of air. and needed separate relays for each also.

Nope. Not if you use a relay.
I guess you could those connectors that attach to a wire without cutting it, and just attach to the stock wires. You could leave the harness intact, but just not use it.

They make things kind of like a zip tie that goes through the hole on the fans mounting areas and through the rad fins to the other side that holds the fan on. Or you could just get some thin long zip ties and put a washer that wont pull through the fans mount holes on the head part. Then run them through the fan mount holes and through the rad fins and cut another head off another zip tie and put another washer on the zip tie you put through the rad and zip that cut off zip tie head on and snug it down.
