I went with 2 SPAL fans with my turbo setup. Heat in Texas with mandatory A/C and water cooled turbo just too much for cooling system. I have maximized cooling with oil cooler, larger radiator and SPAL extreme fans. The mishi fans would keep it cool, but struggled just a little with multiple boosted runs and A/C.

i have a question for those of you that have these spal fans.

Are you guys running the "High Output Relay For High Output Fan Relay Harness" with the fans? Is this necessary and how do you guys wire 2 spal fans into the car's factory fan clip.

here's a pic of it

Yes. You need a relay for each fan. They pull a lot more amperage. You can use a regular 30v auto relay. The power wire to your fans will be the trigger for the relay and then power to fans. I can show you pics when I get my car back. Very easy.

i just got my spal 13 inch puller fans from Tony a T1

How do wire up the relay for each fan?
( i have no idea where or what those four wires go to!)

also i know the fans wont plug right into the stock fan connectors,

so should i cut the connector off the spal fan and wire the oem one to the spal fans?

Someone please help me out! Thanks

Follow this image for setting up your fans. It is an image for the fuel pump, but same setup on the relay. Use the power wire from your stock wiring as your trigger.

The pin numbers are on the underside of the relay, near the spades.

30 - Fused wire directly to battery
85 - Ground (can use the ground from your factory fan wire or chassis)
86 - +12V from your stock fan wiring
87 - New wire to positive lead on fan

You will need to cut the stock harness connector off and wire it into the relay. You can then wire in to the fan, or get two Molex/WeatherPack connectors and use those to the fans.

Did you also buy the nifty kit that lets you mount the fans directly to the radiator from Tony? They are thick plastic leads that push through radiator and attach. Very cool.

Hope this helps.

I have the exact same Spals. The harness connectors were cut off the oem fans and soldered onto each new fans bare harness. The fuse was upped to 30amps and still has no sign of heat stress.
