[QUOTE=2QYK4U,Sep 16 2009, 07:28 AM] Not turning this into an S2000 vs. Evo debate...but the F20/F22 is definitely more efficient than the 4G63.

AMS will tell you first hand that the stock S2000 motor cannot handle 800hp for extended periods of time. They will further tell you that a stock Evo motor cannot handle 800hp for an extended period of time, and the Evo motor is stronger than the S2000 motor.
No they won't... They have no clue what the s2000 motor can handle. They are more then willing to take it to any level I want them too. We discussed this yesterday and I had said as long as everything looks good on the tuning side they can take it to whatever they want. That is what they have done at every single one of my tunes. I'm always limited by something. It has been either my wastegate spring or injectors. I plan on going back with a new fuel system, injector dynamic 2200cc saturated injectors, bigger wastegate spring and e85. I assure you that AMS will take it to 800hp plus if I asked them too. Chris their tuner is one of the best tuners around. If the motor can handle that kind of power based on the tune then I have no doubt I will have no problems. If there is a problem it would be because the motor just cannot handle it. Will see what happens. Right now I need to get the rear end done and work on piecing together a fuel system.

Which wastegate spring do you guys suggest getting for the tail 44mm wastegate? I have a 9lb in there now. AMS said at least a 15 pound one. I'll be without a doubt at the very minimal 27lbs. Would the 20lb be ideal then? If I have a bigger spring, would that cause traction issues? I would be able to have less then 20lbs in 1st and 2nd gear, correct?

its awesome that you want to explore the engines limits. I would do a 1 bar spring ( 14.7psi ). That way you can hit a minumum of 15psi in lower gears and then go for 30+ when you want to.

welcome to the 500 club! and 1 bar is the highest I would go for traction on street tires for 1st and 2nd gear.

Seth, i have a 10.2 pd spring in there now and will be adding my 5.4 pd to it for a combined spring rate of about 16 pds. 16-17 pd spring is about the max you want to go in 1st and 2nd gear. That will have you around 480-500 whp like me in the lower gears. You want the tires to just be skimming at the point to where they are almost breaking loose but not and that will tell you that its at the point to where you are putting down as much as you can without blowing the tires off.

I am not new to the 500 club I've been there for a long time now...

Thanks Chad. I'll pick up the 1.1 bar which is 15.95psi. I ordered a set of mickey tompson et streets yesterday. They should be here tomorrow or Friday. I also have an appointment with a shop next Thursday to see if they can modify the hanger quickly and cheaply. They do it all the time for Supra's and they said it takes them 10 minutes so will see what happens.
