For 450hp or so you're probably fine with just a ACT HD Pressure Plate + OEM disc, or the sport disc if you want a little more to be on the safe side.

I'm running the ACD HD PP + Sport Disc + AP1 flywheel. It's good for just under 400ft/lbs crank certainly enough for your 450-500hp, it'll need to be changed soon as I'm about to go much bigger.

I got that setup for $260 shipped, barely used. Not too shabby. I've driven this setup before, it drives just like stock except way more holding power.

Read up on it.

Im looking more at making 500hp on pump and 600hp+ on E85. That's why I am getting a twin disc and walbro 400 and ID2000s. So yeah the ACT with oem disc wont hold and after doing a lot of research twin disc is my best bet for actually enjoying driving my car even though its not a daily.

You could still go with ACT and a OEM disc or sport disc to hold that power potentially since you didn't give your torque but only hp. If you needed more holding capacity a puck would suffice and be much cheaper than other options mentioned.

Here's something you need to know, clutches aren't measured in hp holding ability but rather in torque. Lately, ore specifically in clamping force over stock all too often.

If you have a supercharger you don't need near as strong of a clutch than if you are turbo.

So how much torque will you be making? You could STILL be safe with a ACT HD PP + OEM disc or sport disc and 600hp. All depends on when you're making your hp in the power-band.

If you tell me your setup I can fairly accurately estimate how much torque you'll make. No reason to have to drive a more abnoxious and expensive clutch than needed.

updated the list of parts I have and things left to do for my build.

I know that the clutch is rated at the TQ number not the horsepower your making, taking a quick look at the power charts and the power level I am supposedly going to be making I am guessing I will be close to 400tq range? So I am not sure if that will be enough clamping force to hold that amount of torque.

In reagards to the Twin questions you posted.

I recently installed a Comp twin in my car.

The pedal is certainly stiffer than stock (but I do have the stiffest plate they offer) and it certainly makes some noise.

Other than that the clutch is a real breeze to drive, and the install is straight forward. I have driven puck'd clutches for years and while I don't mind them, I opted for the twin disc with my driveline and future power potential in mind.

The thing that sucks about the twin is that it is so expensive and you have to buy another one for the supra tranny swap.

Pretty much. I am not looking to get a V160 swap done anytime soon, so I will be sticking with the twin disc.

Absolutely, it's a difference of almost $1500

I got mine used for a great price from a friend so I consider myself to be very lucky.

Yes I am most likely picking up a used one for just under 1000.
