No boost in first gear
Alright guys, about a month ago my buddy Shock and I took my CT AF/SC to the track and weren't getting crap for runs (low 14's). It seemed like in first, the SC would kick in, car would pull back at 5500 RPM and run good to redline. Then when I would shift to second the SC would not wind up. And this continued through third and fourth gear.
At the time, my set up was an MY2001 with a CT AF/SC, with which the previous owner had put a 4.2" pulley and left the CT ESM. The car was wrecked, and I rebuilt it with the help of my uncle. We put it on a DynoJet and saw 310 hp at 9 psi. However, the highest I've ever seen my Auto Meter boost guage read is 8# (which is about what 4.2" pulley should read).
Regardless, after suggestion upon suggestion from members of this forum, I returned the SC pulley to one that came with the Comptech system. I was told this could severely screw my car. I replaced the MAP and tightened the SC belt. Now the car starts great, I have no boost in first gear. Second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth it is flawless.
If the belt was a little loose, could it have streched the belt so much that it takes that amount of 2 or 3 seconds for the SC to wind up? I have checked for leaks time and time again, tightend the clamps, and still nothing.
What would you do? replace the belt? Is the SC turbine screwed up?
Thanks in advance guys.

If your getting boost in 2,3,4,5,6 then its not the compressor. The only thing that dictates whether or not boost is being produced from the compressor is the pulley and belt. My guess is the belt is slightly slipping so in first gear you hardly get any boost but once the gears slow down (2nd gear+) the slipping has a chance to catch and produce boost.
Seems like a good idea to get a whole new belt and try that first.
