sorry guys...didnt think the thread would turn out like this, but I got to say. Majority of what you guys are saying is still true, but from all the phone calls I made from tuning shops, it is still recommended. Even some said to tap the block instead of the oil pan....

Yeah... I was thinkng of tapping the block myself. I don't have good feel for where a good spot would be though; guess I'll just need to rip into the engine.

I have used the drain pan with a -10 line coming from the turbo the entire time without issue. -10 male fitting in the pan and a -10 female line. Makes draining oil easy

We can make everyone happy.

I'll continue tapping the pan, others will use the girdle, and some will use the plug.

Girdle > Pan > Plug

I tapped my oil pan yesterday, but after getting everything back in I was not happy with the angle it was sitting at (little dip that oil could pool)... So I took it out again today and ended up with this.. I am pretty happy with the final product and I think it will be a lot better than the original oil drain location. I also got a plug for it so if I ever want to go back to NA then I can plug it up...

It did not take that long at all so I think its def worth gettin done..

PS: Thanks to those whom I asked advice

So the higher up on the pan is the best place to tap? With the Comptech setup, if I install an AN fitting above the drain bolt, this should be optimal?
