I'm in the UK and just recently finished my turbo build so haven't tried it in summer it never gets above 94f here.

However I wanted to rock the stock sleep look so stock bonnet is a must. Fit a turbo jacket and I fitted soki tech bonnet damper they raise the middle ever so slightly by a mm or two thus a little heat escapes from there, and also removed the rubber seal at the back of the bonnet so again there's a very small gap - you can see a little heat escape and it doesn't look stupid.

Helps and keeps the sleeper/stock look

Lots of people tried to track a turbo s2000. Most were very unsuccessful due to engine bay heat and shit melting.

need vents of some sort first pic is the mg style hood dropped coolant temps 20 degrees that car met its end. with the new car sense I had two stock black hoods I cut the front two vents out very carefully and had the same effect I wouldn't cut the rear most holes as the windshield area is a low pressure area and the air would be pushed in so it would cancel out the front ones I am thinking of cutting the oval and the triangle in the front center of the hood you will need an air saw of quality with side block adjustments a unibit for the corner cuts a steady hand and good files and sand paper. there are some pics in my build thread I think mine came out very good

I have been running a vented hood for a couple of years, have had zero issues with weather... the only thing that needs attention is an occasional water spot on stuff...really no big deal, but my car is not a garage queen and I drive it. If you look closely at the pic below you can see some water spots on the Alloy Craft radiator cooling plate...or can you?

Here is the scientific answer, I hope you like it better than the usual forum banter.

Short answer is, yes your engine runs cooler. It is up to how and where you drive the car to determine if YOU need one. Like all mods need and want often cloud each other. Riceball777, love the painted hood, going to do that to mine as well.
